I peeped this a couple days ago on my boy DJ Cable's Blog but didn't get a chance to blog about it yet.. Serato have just released the SL3 box, which connects the Serato program on your computer to the decks and mixer in a club/rig. The big thing is the extra set of inputs/outputs, which means the Serato 1.9 SP-6 sample player has its own output, plus the ability to switch between the control cd/record and regular cds/records without having the change the cables over. New features over the standard SL1 include:
- New, Compact Hardware Design
- Higher output improves ability to easily match levels of various source types
- Improved Dynamic Range (104 dB)
- Improved audio performance (24 bit converters)
- Galvanic isolation prevents computer noise from interfering with the audio path
- USB 2.0 high speed audio interface
- Aux Input for Live Mix Recording or LiveFeed
- Aux Out channel allows use of Sample Player as a virtual deck and opens the door for future expansion and creative configurations for DJs and electronic musicians
- High-grade Phono Preamps upgrade performance of most mixers
- Software switchable Direct Thru Connections for simplified connections
- Independent Line/ Phono-level selection for each input for greater flexibility
- Includes International Power Supply to insure optimum performance and easy transfer between DJs
- Soft Carry Case Included

You can pick up an SL3 for around $699 (€699,£749). Last time I looked second hand SL1s are around £375 and new ones £425. If you're looking for a cheap Serato box, the SL1 is still always going to be supported and works very well, and I imagine there will be more second hand ones as people switch to the newer box.
