Free Mix: 90s Hip Hop Throwbacks vol 1

I know things have been a bit slack around here lately. I'm still at the mercy of Sky Talk, who have spent a record three and a half months fucking about and longing out my broadband install at my flat. I'm assured it'll be sorted out within the next week.. we'll see.

Anyway here's a quick rough and ready mix of 90s Hip Hop and R&B. Throwbacks from Wu Tang Clan, EPMD, Mary J Blige, Boot Camp Clik, Common, Talib Kewli, Mos Def, Souls of Mischief and more.

Make sure you follow me on Twitter and Mixcloud for more mixes and stuff.

    New Mixes Up Tomorrow

I've got two new mixes dropping tomorrow with the biggest and baddest club Hip Hop, R&B, Bashment and more - to get them first make sure you become a DJ Code Blue V.I.P. by filling out this form!

Listen Online: Live Commerical R&B Set at Global, Brunel Uni

Part of a live set at Global, Brunel University, April 2009. Featuring commercial club Hip Hop, R&B, UK Funky, Bashment and more. Allow the occasional drops in volume, the mixer there doesn't record the mic. Also allow the occasional shoddy mix lol.. In the club I'm always dealing with mad shoutouts, requests, and running the lights/strobe/smoke machine.

Make sure you check out more mixes here: DJ Code Blue on Mixcloud.

I've got a limited amount of invites for the Beta of Mixcloud - enter "DJ Code Blue" as the intro code.

I've been playing about with Mixcloud over the last couple of days. Lots of people are tipping it as the future 'The Youtube of radio' - it definitely has great potential to revolutionise things for online DJs. As their press release mentions, the status quo of djs uploading mixes to zshare etc. isn't great at all, for lots of reasons. But this takes their basic functionality and adds a whole bunch of useful features. DJs can share their mixes along with their profile and information, listeners can "follow" the radio shows they like, and you can embed mixes onto other sites. Hopefully they'll also release the API at some point too, which will let third party developers make cool bits to stick onto it (think flickr widgets etc.)
